I’ve always wanted a beautiful smile, or at the very least not the ugly one I currently have. I’ve visited three dentists in my area for a consultation. All agreed I was what they all called a good candidate, but then we got to the price phase. None of them quoted me a price I could get close to. I was so disappointed. Yesterday, I saw an advertisement for a Groupon for porcelain veneers. I was thrilled to find out it was HALF the price of what the other dentists quoted me. I could finally get the porcelain veneers I’ve always wanted. After my initial excitement, I started having doubts. Is there any reason I should not go through with this?
You asked an important question. I know when you can get a discount on something it can get very exciting. I myself have used Groupon and received great deals on household items. There’s a distinct difference between household items and service-oriented items, especially ones which require a level of skill.
Porcelain veneers require great artistic skill. Not every dentist has it. That is the prime factor in determining whether or not the Groupon is a good deal or not. So, before you hit that purchase button, here’s what I what I want you to do.
What Type of Cosmetic Dentist Should Do Your Porcelain Veneers
When picking your cosmetic dentist you want one who not only has the technical skill but knows how to make a gorgeous looking smile. So how do you know if the Groupon dentist fits the bill for that?
The first thing I’d do is look on the mynewsmile.com website. If he’s listed there as a skilled cosmetic, you can know you’re in safe hands. They’ve done research on every cosmetic dentist who’s asked to be listed to make sure they create beautiful work that lasts. But, what if he’s not listed there?
In that case, you will have to do some legwork. Check out their smile gallery. Call the office and ask if their smile gallery is work the dentist has done himself or stock photos. If it’s work he’s done himself, see if you like the results he gets.
If you do, check out two more things:
- Does he get good reviews from customers? You want a dentist who’s pleasant to work with. Look at Yelp! or Google Reviews to see what patients who’ve used him felt about their experience.
- Make sure he has some kind of beautiful smile guarantee. You want a dentist who is willing to stand behind his work. If you’re going to spend that much money (even at a discount), you want to be sure you will love the results.
